•  Find out who has logged into the account and log out remotely if you don’t recognise your login.
•  Also, go through the list of signups from the past two weeks to see if there is any log in which you do not recognise.

• While signing up, the user knows he is not connected. Keep in mind that the systems that are remained on can check continuously. Similarly, mobile devices will also get check in the background. 
• A log in from a location where you have never been to. Remember location awareness is approximate i.e. country and state needs to be detected along with city’s location within 50 km radius. There is issue of location detection accuracy if account is accessed via mobile networks.If you don’t find anything suspicious enough after following the above instructions and still think your account is compromised then follow the below steps for securing the account.

Below is a rundown of issues along with solutions:

• Forgotten password: Forgotten Password or lost two-step verification device- this is most common and annoying issue we all face while accessing mail service. You can regain the access by using ‘Account Recovery Tool’. It will help in using the same computer system/ laptop/ browser for performing the recovery process.
• Forgot Username: Username is email ID which you used for logging in and includes domain name at the end. You cannot use an alias for signing in. If you do not remember your username, you can recover it via registered phone number or recovery email linked to account.
• Locked Account: If the mail service is lock, then you will be informed via message that when can you try to log in. The mail service is lock when someone tries or manages to steal the details and start using the mail service for sending spam.
• Expired-Account: The email service won’t be removed immediately once the subscription is expired but will disable receiving and sending emails. But if not repaid, the service provider will suspend the access.
• Disabled legacy guest/ member accounts: If you want to continue with your expired guest or member account, then you need to sign up for one of the FastMail subscription. For this, log in with your username and password and you will be redirected to subscription upgrading screen.
